General research into titles (sequences, Font use, Opening)

General research into titles

Different titles are used within different genres and even story-lines to connote different emotions to make the audience viewer feel a certain way. for example In My Best Friend's Wedding the titles are bright yellow and extremely elegant with a story-tailed themed font, clashing on pink background as they fade in and out. The bright yellow connotes happiness and sunshine thus informing the audience of it being a happy film, the font being "fairy-tailed" connotes that their is love in the piece, whilst the fading in and out connotes a delicate nature. As the titles where used to connote love and happiness they would therefore differ to Snatches which is plain and white and bold to connote a hard cutting big powerful ugly theme.

This therefore proves that every aspect of titles helps portray the genre, i therefore will look into titles suitable for my piece.

Courier Font would be good for my peice as it is very simple, with a slight twist of scruffiness which could connote lack of informality and poverty as it denotes it was hand written.

I think I will have it simple, white on black background to stand out as bold, connoting power and uncertainty as connoted by the juxtaposition.

I would like to use the fading in slow pace, as it creates a uncomfortable tension which helps grip the audiences attention.
